Pueblo Home of Heroes
Jim and Paulette, these are all low-rez photos to show what we have so far
List of drone photos needed from Steve Eller
Medal of Honor Memorial Pueblo Home of Heroes Pueblo Home of Heroes
We will need a vertical shot that will work on the front cover similar to the one we showed you on the mock-up. We also want various other photos from different angles to give a feel of the Memorial. This might include a picture of the granite plaques behind the statues (ground shot) that gives a feel for the fact that all Medal of Honor recipients names are on the memorial. The Memorial would be best if it were taken when there Is a slight breeze so the flags are unfurled. It also needs to be taken when the U.S. Flag is NOT at half-staff. I’m sure the Convention Center folks could raise it for the photo if by chance this was necessary. As we mentioned we also need a horizontal shot that includes the Convention Center to the left of the Memorial. If the shot were just right we might want to wrap the horizontal photo around the cover to the back cover, which would put the Memorial on the front cover the and Convention Center on the back.
Have 3, but not happy with the lighting
Took 50 or so with still camera, lots of good ones
Veteran’s Bridge
You already have some great shots of the bridge. We have some ground level photos of people looking at names on the bridge but if you were lucky enough to get one from the drone that might also be very interesting. Also a close-up from the air of the five service medallions which are on the side of the bridge would be a nice addition.
Walk of Valor
There are several stops on the Walk of Valor but only a few that would be good as drone photos.
The MOH Memorial is part of the Walk of Valor, but it is covered above.
Pike Plaza – this is at the east end of HARP right by the small island with the bronze animals. It has a large medallion of Pike and a stylized map of his travels in the cement walk below the medallion.
Waterfront Building – This is the one that has the Center for American Values on the bottom level and the one we said would look best on the Fourth of July since the building will have all the U.S. Flags on the roof.
Memorial Hall – Some drone shots would be good to add to the ground shots you already took.
Victory Row
This is the median on Elizabeth Street between 29th and 25th. 80 or so years ago it was called Victory Row because they planted trees on each side of the street in honor of the WWI veterans and then began adding memorials on the median, some of which are still there. A drone shot looking south toward the Doughboy Statue with the other memorial behind would be great. Further south is the Vietnam Memorial which we would also like taken with the drone if the trees don’t prevent it. It would have to be taken shooting north.
CSU-P South East Memorial
This memorial is fairly new and is just off the main CSU-P plaza that has the fountain. It is north west of the fountain. Trees may be a problem with this one. It is hard to get a good photo of this one from the ground because of the design of the memorial.
Statue of Liberty
It is right in front of the Court House and while we have some ground shots of this one a drone prospective might be very interesting.
Veteran’s Memorial at Imperial Gardens Cemetery
This one is located just inside the west main entrance to the cemetery. When you drive in the gate it is off to your immediate right (west). This one is difficult to get a good ground shot due to the power lines in the back ground. It would look best, I think, if the shot was taken with the drone facing toward Pikes Peak.
I-25 Welcome to Pueblo sign
Sign is just before Exit 101 on Pueblo’s northside. It has a better look to it than the one at the south of Lake Avenue Exit and past PEWAG tire chain company. So we probably only need the northside one.
